( This post was supposed to be done on Fri, 15 Jun 2012 itself...However my internet was down for whatever reason....Thank God its back ...Hurray for connectivity [or net-tivity ;-)] In My defence I tried to sort it without success ...complained to hubby whose query was.. "Why do you need to blog on your desktop when you have an iphone ?".. well there can be no reasonable reply to that logic.. i'm still getting used to my iphone which was a recent gift from my hubby dearest ...a well earned one at that after having used my earlier cell for nearly 5 years...make it five and a half ! though Cheenu has used it more than me on a daily basis with his nursery rhymes app )
Hi... It was D day today..both for Cheenu and me ;-) and as expected we both were unprepared for what lay ahead of us...
From now on for all future references, OCM stands for "ME"- the Obsessive Compulsive Mother !!
As the saying goes" the child gives birth to a mother" ..in our case " Cheenu and Shaku gave birth to me, the OCM !!"
So, Cheenu got up early, had a bath ( remind me to share the dry clean day tales later) and some breakfast and was ready to go. He thought what a day... we are going out so early ..what fun...
Me, I had cramps in my tummy since i got up...remember the feeling on the day of exams..those butterflies that refuse to go away in your tummy... the same feeling came over me. I could not eat, could not do anything right that morning.(OCM ! OCM !!!)... kept glancing at the clock every 10 sec as i didnt want him to be late ..
So, I fed Shaku baby and while he kept my mom company, Cheenu and me went to his Playhouse .
What a sight that greeted us !! Anxious parents, Grandparents, Nannies and little toddlers had gathered around. Cheenu too sensed something amiss and caught hold of my hand as tightly as he could.
The next thing...all kids being handed over to the teachers one by one as they screamed and screeched (the kids) their lungs out...Cheenu too did the same...
OK..he's inside now with 30 other wailing kids... 30 mins to go....all parents await outside while the kids are taken inside the classrooms ( it's the settling period of 30 mins everyday for a week) ..hmm..i'm composed...my breathing is almost normal...
i even consoled a mom who could not help bursting out with tears as her daughter was taken inside...Oh the first call for change of clothes was her daughter's. She had thrown up !!
Hmmm.... the 30 mins wait over the kids were being escorted outside to the waiting parents again. I heard the teacher call out for Cheenu's change of clothes. My Champ too threw up !!
Once outside the class he ran to the door when he saw me.. My little bundle of anxious nerves... but he was calm the moment he came back to my arms...my baby !!!
So that was it...we both did well... me for my OCM behaviour did really well i think..no tears.. no melodrama ...and of course My Little Cheenu was my Champ today... i'm sure he'll take his time but eventually settle down.. years later we'll read this post together again dear Cheenu...till then..Happy Growing Up!!!
